Saltstraumen

Saltstraumen, february 2019

Saltstraumen is one of the strongest tidal currents in the world, but I’ve always remembered it as “that place where I locked the keys into the trunk of the car while camping with my parents as a kid.”

I finally went back in 2019, twenty-something years later, as a quick stop on my way to the Lofoten Islands with a couple of my photographer friends. Walking across the bridge, right over the churning, twisting water, was an experience I won’t forget again.
