Girona
Girona went on my list of favorite cities from the very first meal I sat down to eat with my good friends in a small town square. This town is walkable, beautiful, laid-back, and very much the “Spanish version of Boulder” that I’d heard it called before. (I counted so many cycling shops.)
It struggles with over-tourism and affordable housing, the way all beautiful towns seem to these days. Please be conscious of where you stay in Girona, and consider booking a traditional hotel over an airbnb.
