When should I book?

I recommend that you contact me at least three weeks before you want to shoot, as my calendar fills up quickly. While I am sometimes able to schedule shoots on short notice, I prefer that you also have time to prepare so you get the best possible photos out of your session.

What days/times can we shoot?

I am generally available for studio sessions on weekdays between 9am and 6pm, but my schedule varies from week to week. If you have a strict schedule (i.e. you can only get off work on Saturday mornings or Thursday after 9pm), please contact me early and I will try my best to make it work. For outdoor sessions I recommend shooting early in the morning or late in the afternoon to ensure the best possible lighting for your photos.

When will I get my photos?

You will receive a digital album with your proofs (the unedited images) within 48 hours after your session. Once you’ve made your selections and sent them back to me, you can expect to receive your edited photos within three weeks (six weeks for tour sessions). If you are local, I’ll buy you coffee, show you the finished photos in person, and give you a chance to see my print and album samples before making any ordering decisions. If you are unable to meet in person, you’ll receive your finished photos in a digital album, and we can discuss print orders via phone call or email.

Will I get to see all the photos?

I usually take between 100-200 photos in one hour of shooting, then narrow it down to the best 50 or so before sending you the proofs. You won’t see the photos where your form is off, you were talking while I took the photo, or any that I feel don’t represent the best of what we created together. This keeps you from getting overwhelmed with deciding which photos you want edited, and saves your ego from seeing struggle faces or floppy feet.

In what format will I get the finished photos?

You will receive web-resolution jpeg format files via your own online gallery that you can download, share on social media, etc. High-resolution images with print release are available for purchase at an additional cost.

Can I order print products from you?

Yes, I offer traditional prints, canvas wrap wall art, and albums, in a variety of sizes and price ranges. If you are looking for art to fill a specific wall in your house, or an album to gift to someone, let me know in advance of your session so that we can discuss the best options and shoot with this in mind.

Will you share my photos on social media?

Unless you request otherwise, I may share 1-2 photos from your session on my Facebook and/or Instagram pages, or use them in my galleries on this website. I never tag clients on Facebook, and you can of course ask me to take a photo down if you don’t want it shared.

If you’re looking for a little boost in Instagram followers, let me know your username so I can tag you! My photography page has over 6,500 followers, and my photos often get shared by @aerialnation, @poledancenation, and other big accounts.

How long do you save my photos?

I keep all photos, including the ones you did not order, for at least six months after your session. If you lose your photos and need me to send them again, I will do so once free of charge. I highly recommend that you back up all digital photos in 2 different places as soon as you receive them, like on an external hard drive and cloud storage.

Will you travel for outdoor sessions?

Absolutely! Travel within one hour of driving time from Boulder is included with your session fee. Any further driving is subject to an additional travel charge.

I don't know what to wear. Will you help me?

Of course! I can give you outfit suggestions based on the style of photos you’re having done, or I can put together a Pinterest board where we can both pin outfit ideas for your session. And you are always welcome to bring in a giant bag of every leotard and pair of leggings you own to let me decide – you wouldn’t be the first one!

What is your cancellation policy?

For all regular sessions, a 50% non-refundable retainer is required to book and hold the date for your session. This retainer serves as a cancellation fee, and the remaining balance is due at the beginning of your session. If you cancel more than 48 hours in advance of your session, you can apply your retainer to a future session. If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours in advance of your session, the deposit is non-refundable, and a new retainer must be paid before rescheduling. Reschedules must be completed within three months of the original session date.

What happens if I hurt myself before my session?

With the nature of my photography, I understand that injuries and illnesses happen at the most inconvenient times. If you can provide a doctor’s note saying that you are unfit to complete your photo session, I am happy to credit your retainer toward a future session as long as you notify me via phone call at least three hours before your session.

What happens if I'm unhappy with my photos?

It is extremely important to me that you love your photos, so if you at any point have complaints about your photos or session experience, please tell me so I can make it up to you. I will show you some of the photos we take as we go along, so the finished product should never come as a surprise. Once I have delivered the finished photos I cannot offer makeup sessions, so the best time to let me know is after receiving your proofs – or during the session!
